World Tourism Day 2023

This World Tourism Day recognises the vital need for green investments to build a tourism sector that works for the benefit of people and the planet. There is an urgent need to invest in sustainable and resilient tourism practices, adopt zero-emission pathways, reduce energy consumption and harness renewable forms of energy, and protect biodiversity and the ecological balance of all destinations.

On the occasion of the celebration of this day, the City Council holds an Institutional Act in the Plenary Hall, in which the 2023 Benidorm City Tourism Awards and the 2023 Sicted Distinctions are presented.

This year the winners are the following:

National Category: FRANCISCO JOSÉ BENITO
Local / Autonomous Category: MICHELLE BAKER
Special Mention: FRANCESC COLOMER
In addition, the SICTED awards were presented to 49 companies, firms, organizations and tourist elements who received the distinction that recognizes their participation in this project, which is committed to comprehensive quality in its offer in order to achieve a higher quality tourist destination.
