Adherence to the Alliance of Cities for Sustainable Development - Agenda 2030

 Benidorm City Council, in the plenary session on February 29, 2016, approved the accession to the alliance of cities for sustainable development.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, approved by the United Nations General Assembly on September 25, 2015, constitutes a unique opportunity to lay the foundations for a global transformation that leads towards inclusive and sustainable models, at the national level and international. In their resolution, the signatory countries recognized that they are "resolved to end poverty and hunger worldwide by 2030, to combat inequalities within and between countries, to build peaceful, just and inclusive societies, to protect human rights and promote gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls, and to ensure lasting protection of the planet and its natural resources."
