ACTION PLAN FOR CLIMATE AND SUSTAINABLE ENERGY (PACES) OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF BENIDORM
The Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy commits participating municipalities to achieve community objectives for reducing greenhouse gas emissions through actions related to energy efficiency and renewable energy sources.
This document consists of an Action Plan for Climate and Sustainable Energy to be applied in Benidorm to comply with the commitments to reduce emissions, save energy, promote renewable energies and adapt to climate change in 2030.
The collective perspective of the signatories of the pact for the year 2050 is based on three fundamental premises:
- Accelerate the decarbonization of their territories.
- Strengthen their capacity to adapt to the inevitable effects of climate change.
- Allow its citizens access to safe, sustainable and affordable energy sources.
The signatories acquire as their own the European commitment to reduce greenhouse gases by at least 40%, increase the use of energy from renewable sources by 27% and improve energy efficiency by 27%, by the year 2030, to achieve this, they must articulate a common approach that promotes, on the one hand, Mitigation, and, on the other hand, promotes adaptation to climate change.
