The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, has participated this afternoon in the celebration of the 'Poppy Appeal' organized in the city Royal British Legion, an NGO that sells solidarity poppies, made in the most diverse materials and mostly by people with functional diversity, with which the memory of British soldiers is honored fallen in service since the First World War.
At 12.00 p.m., a parade began, preceded by a group of Scottish bagpipers, from Castellón avenue to Ametlla de Mar, along Paseo de Levante. Hundreds of people gathered at the venue to witness the event organized by the Royal British Legion.
Toni Pérez, on behalf of the entire municipal corporation, congratulated the organizers for "the values they represent of solidarity and service to society", who have said that "Benidorm will always welcome you with open arms."
