In line with the decision taken by the FVMP Tourism Commission, the city will not extend the opening hours of the sandy areas

Benidorm City Council will make no exception in the schedule of the beaches during the Night of San Juan, so, as marked by the last party dictated by the mayor, Toni Pérez, on May 14, the sandy areas will be closed to 10:30 p.m. The Beaches Councilor, Mónica Gómez, has indicated that “in line with the decision adopted this morning in the Tourism Commission of the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP), the opening hours of our beaches will not be extended on the festivity of San Juan ”.

Thus, “as has been the case since May 14, our beaches and coves will be open from 07:00 to 22:30; a wide schedule to guarantee the enjoyment of the bath and stay in the sandy areas of residents and visitors.

The councilor has taken the opportunity to remember that "in addition to the schedule, the party collects all the information and guidelines on the activity and use of the beaches and coves of Benidorm." Some measures, she has specified, with which "we continue to ensure that our beaches are safe and that all people who wish to enjoy them in the best conditions and with total comfort."

The sands of the three beaches are divided into plots of 16 square meters, which can be occupied by a maximum of 4 people, and can be increased to five if one of them is under 6 years of age.
The entrance to the beaches and coves will be carried out only through the authorized places, recommending that users wear footwear adapted to the surface to be travelled - walkways, ramps, etc.-. Access to the bathing area must also be made through the areas set up for this purpose.
You can walk along the shore of the beach keeping the minimum safety distance of 1.5 meters, the use of a mask being mandatory, as established by the Resolution of May 8, 2021, of the Councilor for Universal Health and Public Health. For these walks a strip of 6 meters from the shore is established, in which only those under 10 years of age can remain seated, lying down or immobile.
The safety distance of 1.5 meters must also be maintained at the crossroads with other users or non-living groups, both in the bathing area and on the sand.
Sports practice is authorized in the areas permanently enabled for beach volleyball and beach soccer; while the use of footbaths is limited when leaving the beach.
In addition, as established by the municipal ordinance, it is recalled that it is forbidden to deposit objects and belongings, such as hammocks and umbrellas, in order to reserve plots. When detected, these items will be seized and deposited in the closest access, where they can be collected by the owner.
