The Provincial Council subsidizes the Legal Assistance Service for Women in Benidorm

In 2016, 100 women at risk of exclusion were treated and 31 victims of gender violence

Benidorm City Council will receive a grant from the Provincial Council of Alicante for the Legal Assistance Service for Women which provides "legal advice and guidance to women at risk of social exclusion and gender violence." This has been announced this morning by the Councilor for Equality, Paquita Ripoll. This contribution of the provincial entity, which amounts to a total of 1,589 euros during the 2017 financial year, will be allocated to the maintenance of this program provided by the City Hall.

Ripoll recalled that the objectives of this initiative are "to provide legal guidance" in situations arising from the crimes of gender violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation, as well as "inform and advise on legal matters (civil, criminal, labor, foreigners, etc.), to persons and groups who are at risk of social exclusion.

The Legal Service for Women has been operating in Benidorm since 2000. During 2016, it attended to a hundred women at risk of social exclusion and 31 victims of gender violence.
