A piano recital by Mar Valor opens the concerts of the XXIX International Music Course in Benidorm
The winner of the XVIII Music Competition of Benidorm 2016, the pianist Mar Valor, was the protagonist of the inaugural concert of the XXIX International Music Course of Benidorm, which was held last night in Auditorium of the Town Hall. During a week Benidorm will gather in this course some of the best teachers of various specialties and high-level students from all over Spain.
This edition focuses on four instrumental specialties: trombone, piano, oboe and cello. The classes of these specialties will be taught by Juan Carlos Matamoros, trombone soloist of the National Orchestra of Spain (OCNE); Ana Guijarro, professor of piano at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid; Vicent Llimera, professor of oboe at the Conservatory of Music of Valencia; and Michal Dmochowsky, assistant professor at the Reina Sofia High School of Music and cello teacher at the Conservatorio Jacinto Guerrero de Toledo.
Ricardo Llorca, a professor at Juilliard School, Queen Sofia Spanish Institute in New York and composer in residence at New York Opera Society, is a non-instrumental composer. '.
Registered students will also be able to participate in the XIX Music Competition, which this year is dedicated to the trombone specialty. The winner of the contest will receive the Special Prize of the City Council: the inaugural concert of the International Course next year. In addition, there will be other prizes donated by the collaborating entities.
Until next Friday, the Auditorium will host free concerts at 21:30 hours interpreted by teachers and students.
