Hundreds of people gather at Mal Pas for the final screening of the ‘Cinema on the Beach’ series, featuring the film ‘CampeoneX’

Several hundred people gathered once again last night at Mal Pas Beach to enjoy the second screening in the ‘Cinema on the Beach’ series, organised every summer since 2016 by the Department of Culture. On this occasion, the comedy ‘CampeoneX’, directed by Javier Fesser, was chosen to bring the series to a close.

The second screening focused on the team from ‘Campeones’, who leave basketball behind and, by mistake, venture into the fascinating world of athletics under the guidance of a rookie coach. Faced with the tough demands of the new discipline and the coach’s surprising ability to attract all kinds of misfortunes and mishaps, everything ends up going wrong.

Jaime Jesús Pérez, Councillor for Culture, described this year’s edition of ‘Cinema on the Beach’ as “very positive” and said it is “just one of the many free activities we organise throughout the summer, outdoors and in different locations across our city, to promote culture in all its forms, including theatre, music and cinema, through a leisure programme for all audiences.”
