The fourth Participatory Budget breaks new records by registering 65 investment proposals

For the fourth consecutive year the neighbors will decide what to allocate at least 5% of the investment budget

The Participatory Budget of 2019 has broken new records of participation after the Assembly held yesterday at the social center José Llorca Linares, in which 114 forms were registered, of which 65 were consolidated as investment proposals.
The table of the assembly was chaired by the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Mª Jesús Pinto; and composed by the 1st and 2nd vice-presidents of the Neighborhood Council, Fernando Montes and Christian Corraini, and the spokesperson of the Neighborhood Council, Francisca Fuster. The Assembly held yesterday, which completely filled the hall of the Social Center "Lorca Llinares" with more than 150 attendees, marks the beginning of the process of citizen participation that will culminate in the Participatory Budget of 2019.
The 65 proposals approved yesterday will now be studied by a mixed commission, considered as a second correction factor, before being submitted to the benchmarking by the municipal technicians.
This fourth edition of the Participatory Budgeting is therefore the one that has received the most proposals, and is mainly directed to the areas of Mobility, Urbanism, Urban Scenery and Accessibility.
The Councilor for Participation, María Jesús Pinto, stressed before the Assembly that through this participatory instrument, "Benidorm's neighbors decide in which projects to allocate part of the investment budget, at least 5 % "; a percentage that always ends up exceeding as it has already happened in 2018 in which the amount of the Participatory Budget was 420,000 euros, exceeding that 5%, as also happened the previous year.
