Benidorm opens Poniente parking lot throughout Holy Week

Benidorm City Council today opened the Poniente parking garage, located on Avenida Puerto Rico. The contract for its control, maintenance, and management was awarded to the joint venture formed by New Capital 2000 SL and Promed Servicios e Infraestructuras SLU. The parking garage opens to the public today and will be operational until April 6th, with uninterrupted service from 9:00 AM to midnight.

Parking will be free for users during this period. The garage will reopen at the beginning of July and remain open until the October bank holiday weekend, also free of charge. Francis Muñoz, Councillor for Mobility, who visited the facility this morning, stated that "according to the contract, the garage's opening period coincides with peak tourist season, when parking needs increase: Easter week and from July 1st until after the October bank holiday weekend."

Muñoz clarified that “the parking garage will continue to operate as before, free of charge,” and the 151 available and operational spaces on the roof of the facility, which are already free year-round, will also remain free of charge. The contract for the control, maintenance, and management of the parking garage covers the 246 spaces inside the building, of which 211 are for cars (13 of which are reserved for people with reduced mobility), 11 for motorcycles, and 24 for bicycles.

The contract was awarded for €65,286.27, an amount that will be prorated over the period of actual service provision. The contract will be in effect until mid-October 2027.
