Benidorm improves the road shoulders and the new roundabout on Avenida Comunidad Valenciana
The Parks and Gardens and Mobility departments of Benidorm City Council have jointly carried out work to improve the appearance and road safety of Avenida Comunidad Valenciana. This involved the improvement of the road shoulders on both sides of the road and the interior of the new roundabout, which opened to traffic this week.
To this end, workers from the Parks and Gardens dealer carried out pruning and clearing of weeds and excess vegetation that had grown in some areas along the road's verges. The same work was done inside the roundabout, as weeds had already appeared on the surface despite its completion months ago. This roundabout is linked to the access road currently under construction in Levante, part of the future development of the industrial park, known as the "Discotecas Road," which ends at Avenida Comunidad Valenciana and will connect the N-332 bypass with this avenue. This project is entirely funded by the City Council.
With the work carried out on the road shoulders, “we have gained in comfort and road safety, especially for cyclists, since in some places weeds were encroaching on the area where cyclists ride,” stated José Ramón González de Zárate, Councilor for Parks and Gardens, who also emphasized that “we have improved the appearance of a busy area that is one of the main entrances and exits to the city.”
This work is usually carried out as frequently as necessary to prevent vegetation from encroaching on traffic areas. In this case, the project also included the improvement of the new roundabout.
