Benidorm will renovate the public lighting of a large part of Colonia Madrid neighbourhood by installing luminaires with 'LED' technology

Benidorm City Council is going to renovate the street lighting of about twenty streets in the neighborhood of Colonia Madrid which will thus have luminaires with 'led' technology. The mayor, Toni Pérez, explained that the current public lighting "has its origin in the 60s, so we talked about obsolete facilities in which in many cases had not even been intervened in a timely manner." With this contract, awarded last Wednesday at the Local Government Board, 225 luminaires will be replacement.

The mayor stressed that "this performance of energy efficiency" will reduce consumption and will also "allow greater security and an aesthetic and image change in almost the entire neighborhood of Madrid" with an investment of close to 200,000 euros

Specifically, it will act in the streets: Deportiva, Virgen de la Paloma, Luna, Espejo, Jardines, Rejoneador Ginés Cartagena, Goya, Macarena, Paseo de las Acacias, Paseo de la Castellana, Serrano, Alcalá, Salamanca, Almudena, Velázquez , Montera, Florida, Atocha and Arnedo.

Pérez pointed out that this type of works and projects show that "Benidorm advances steps intervening in each and every one of the neighborhoods", and in the specific case of Colonia Madrid "being very much benefited from powerful performances such as Parque de Foietes and others oriented to update public roads ".
