With this new car park, the Levante area increases the number of available spaces by 400, coinciding with the burial works on Beniardá Avenue, which are due to start imminently
Benidorm opens on Monday the new free public parking on Jaén street with almost 100 spaces
The new free public car park on Calle Jaén will be open to the public next Monday, September 5 in the morning, once the refurbishment work on the plot on which it is located has been completed. This car park, located in the final section of Jaén street, between Cuenca and Mallorca streets, occupies an area of 2,600 square meters and has a capacity for almost a hundred spaces.
At this time, the only thing missing is the final paving of the plot to finish the adaptation of the soil, which is being carried out by the municipal technical services.
As in other public car parks, the City Council has reached an agreement with the owner of the plot to clean up the land and make it suitable for use as a car park. "It is a formula that allows us to add more places in different areas of the city in the commitment to sustainable mobility that we started years ago," said the Councilor for Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate.
“On this plot, we had received many complaints from neighbours, who asked for more cleaning. That is why we reached an agreement with the property to be able to adapt it and add more free public parking spaces” added the mayor.
Once the work is finished, the plot will have its corresponding entry and exit ford, as well as exterior lighting and new paint and signage. The councilman has also highlighted the new image offered by Jaén Street after the actions carried out in recent months. “In the section of the Cultural Center, we have implemented the single platform, with pedestrian priority. In the next one, we have left car parks in line with a mixed treatment and in the final part we have created this new free car park to continue gaining spaces in the Levante area”.
The Benidorm City Council, with the opening of this car park, will complete a pool of 400 free public parking spaces in the Levante area. The commissioning of this new public and free parking in Levante coincides with the work to bury Beniardá Avenue, which will be closed to traffic in its upper part on September 12 and for a period of 10 months, which forces the usual traffic in and out of this road to be diverted to Avenida Juan Pablo II in Poniente and Avenida Comunidad Europea in Levante.
