Benidorm Neighborhood Council presents the Participatory Budgets for 2020

21 November 2019
El Consejo Vecinal de Benidorm presenta los Presupuestos Participativos para 2020

The vice presidents of the Neighborhood Council, Teresa Garrido and Manuel Sánchez Notario have presented this morning at Benidorm City Council Registry the list of proposals voted by the neighbors for the Participatory Budgets of 2020 for their assessment.

This previous step is necessary to verify the viability of the technical and budgetary initiatives. Benidorm allocates a minimum of 5% of its Budget for this purpose and that, for example, in the previous edition exceeded 540,000 euros.

After the presentation of the documentation in the Official Registry, the members of the Council met with the councilors of Citizen Participation, Ana Pellicer, and Works, Public Space and Street Cleaning, José Ramón González de Zárate to give them a copy of the documentation . In this regard, Ana Pellicer said that "it will be the municipal services who will have to assess the proposals technically and economically and will issue the mandatory feasibility report."

The valuation "will take into account - Pellicer stressed - the score obtained by the idea in the neighborhood assembly and the economic feasibility report" to "adjust to the maximum limit of authorized expenditure". Subsequently, the proposal, in accordance with the regulations of the Participative Budgets, will be processed “according to the action; if a public tender, a specific technical project is required or needs to be submitted to public exposure. ”

Balance

The meeting also assessed the results of the work sessions that, during the last months, have been held with neighborhood groups and associations in the city. In a first balance of the actions carried out by the City Council at the request of the neighbors, González de Zárate, has announced that “330 alcorques have been installed, more than 100 new wastebaskets, banks and about 120 works of sidewalk recesses, "the latter" within. Universal Accessibility Plan ”.

De Zárate said that the Municipal Brigade “has made dozens of small repairs in all neighborhoods following the directions of the neighbors and also - the councilor said - there have been extraordinary cleaning actions at specific points in the city, without neglecting the work of pruning and suppression of potholes in the paths of the Garden ”.
