The agents will provide service in the Beaches section from July

Benidorm completes the process to incorporate 11 new temporary officers of the Local Police

14 June 2019
Benidorm culmina el proceso para incorporar 11 nuevos agentes interinos de la Policía Local

Benidorm City Council has completed today the selective process to incorporate 11 new temporary officers to the staff of the Local Police. The acting councilors of Citizen Security and Human Resources, Lorenzo Martínez and Jesús Carrobles, explained that "during this week the personal interview was conducted to the more than 150 agents who have applied for this call", launched by the City Council to fill the vacancies left this year by the officers who have accepted the decree of early retirement approved by the Government. A decree that has allowed the members of the police staff to advance their retirement at age 59.

Carrobles has indicated that "these 11 temporary workers will serve in the Beaches section of the Local Police" and that their incorporation is scheduled for the end of June or the beginning of July.

For his part, Maríinez has pointed out that "from the Department of Public Security are making efforts to try to reach an agreement with the Generalitat Valenciana to amend the Local Coordination Law of Local Police" which currently only allows the hiring of temporary officers to cover vacancies due to the retirement of agents at age 59 and not in other cases.

According to Martínez, "to meet the Generalitat the requirement of Benidorm and other municipalities of the Valencian Community could get to hire 45 temporary officers" until the end of the year instead of the 11 expected.
