Benidorm approves applying the payment of the professional background of municipal workers to the next payroll
The Local Government Board (JGL) of Benidorm City Council has approved this morning to pay the professional career payment in the next payroll for November that municipal workers will receive. This payment corresponds to the November monthly payment, although the October monthly payment will also be added to this payroll as arrears.
The payment of the professional career of civil servants derives from a ruling by the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community, which required the beginning of the legal procedures for the approval of the regulatory standards to establish a system of degrees of professional development.
In August of this year, the City Council approved in full the Regulations that articulated the evaluation of the performance and horizontal professional career of the City Council staff, a text that was published in September in the BOP.
Thus, on September 27, the call for the extraordinary process of access to a professional career was made and the deadline for submitting applications was opened, which was provisionally resolved on November 10.
The first payment will be included in the November payroll. In this sense, the Councilor for Human Resources, Ana Soliveres, recalled that “this measure comes from a plenary agreement” and highlighted that “Benidorm is one of the few town councils that has complied with the application of the horizontal professional career of its workers. There are not many who can say that they have done this homework.” The overall amount of professional background represents an increase in the Personnel chapter this year of 1,177,222 euros.
The professional background involves the individualized recognition of the professional development achieved by career civil servants as a result of the assessment of their career and professional performance, the quality of the work performed, the knowledge acquired, and the result of the performance evaluation. as well as those other merits and aptitudes that may be established by regulation due to the specificity of the function performed and the experience acquired.
