Organized by Hotel Technological Institute, a conference framed in Hotel Energy Meetings, on hotel energy management, has been held in Benidorm, in which the technical co-sponsors of the event have presented cutting-edge technologies and the keys to adapt them to the specific needs of the hotels , guaranteeing results and optimizing operating costs, under the basic premise of sustainability
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, inaugurated the event, in the company of ITH president, Javier García Cuenca, and the general secretary of Hosbec, Nuria Montes.
Pérez stressed that "sustainability is the greatest responsibility that we all have in these decisive moments in which it has ceased to be a goal and has become a necessity: to be sustainable."
The mayor recalled that Benidorm has managed to place sustainability as one of its strengths and this has been contributed by the productive fabric and especially the accommodation industry, in a process that "carries overtones of revolution" due to the number of initiatives that are already being applied to advance on this issue that is part of the DTI axes and that Benidorm has been applying "for six decades", obtaining its recognition.
For Pérez, "there is awareness in both hotels and tourists." He pointed out that "Benidorm hotels have bet on efficiency and effectiveness, and practice responsible energy consumption and still want to improve further." The challenge, the mayor pointed out at the inauguration, is to "work to continue reducing impacts to be more sustainable" and thereby demonstrate that "tourism is not only sustainable but is the industry that best redistributes wealth", because sustainability is environmental , economic and social.
