The City Council is also executing a new garden area with bio-healthy elements at the junction of Esperanto and Orts Llorca
Benidorm will renovate infrastructures in Esperanto section between Orts Llorca and Europa, change sidewalks and create more car parks
Benidorm City Council will begin this November to replace the drinking water and sewerage infrastructures on Esperanto Street, in the section between Orts Llorca and Europa Avenue. This same action will also entail the change and renovation of the sidewalks and the creation of battery car parks that will more than double the current number of spaces.
The proposal will be taken to the next Local Government Board (JGL) and includes a budget of 327,387.91 euros plus VAT, which will be financed from the Renovation Funds provided for in the contract with Hidraqua, the successful bidder for the management of the integral water cycle.
Mayor Toni Pérez visited the area today with the councilors of Public Space and Citizen Participation, José Ramón González de Zárate and Ana Pellicer, together with the vice president of the Neighborhood Council, Teresa Garrido, and the president of the Ciudad Jardín neighborhood association. Saladar, Manuel Sánchez Notary. A visit that is part of the ‘On the street’ campaign.
Pérez has highlighted the "great importance" of this action, which will involve the renewal of the drinking water network with the replacement of the fiber cement pipes by others of ductile iron, as well as all the valves and special parts, in those sections that have home connection. "Fire hydrants and hydrants necessary for the service will also be installed," he specified.
It will also act on the sewage and rainwater network since, due to erosion by the corrosive effect of these waters, an inner polyethylene sleeve will be installed. In this sense, the mayor has indicated that "a specific problem has been detected in the sewage collector that runs through Esperanto that causes some overflows during episodes of intense rain, so a spillway will be made at the height of Orts Llorca" .
Likewise, the replacement of the paving of Esperanto Street will be carried out, which will be affected by these works "and it will be used to install two conduits for the implementation of future municipal services."
The work will also entail the creation of more parking spaces on Esperanto street, since “there is sufficient width to maintain the current parking lot in line and to place another on the opposite sidewalk for battery parking, with which the number of spaces it will look more than doubled ”.
On the other hand, at the confluence between Esperanto and Orts Llorca streets, an action has also begun to be carried out to create a garden area with bio-healthy elements. The objective, explained the mayor, is "to facilitate sports practice for residents of the area, a space for those who visit this environment and who will be the end users of this place of leisure and entertainment."
Thus, six biosaludable play units will be installed for sports and b a canopy cover in the shape of a triangular sail with three posts and a resistant technical fabric. The roof will be anchored to the ground by three posts. In addition, an informative poster will be placed and the area will have a total fence.
The budget for the installation and assembly of the bio-healthy elements and the roof amounts to 18,130.64 euros.
