Telefónica Senior Congress returns to Benidorm
The councilor for Social Welfare, Ángela Llorca, this morning has attended the inauguration of the XVII Congress of Associations of elderly organized by the Valencian section of the National Association Grupo Mayor Telefónica under the title 'Loneliness of the elderly: Alternatives to Residences' and that has a face-to-face and telematic modality.
In the opening ceremony, together with the national president of Telefónica Seniors, Santiago González, and that of the Valencia section, Ramón Biforcos, the councilor Llorca highlighted the fact of the return to Benidorm of the congress and, very especially, the suitability of the central theme, the loneliness of the elderly.
She pointed out that the pandemic has surfaced this reality "to which she urges to give an adequate response, encouraging a serious approach to this problem and achieving an adequate gerontological approach."
The congress addresses the actions of the different Autonomous Communities and Town Councils in progress, as well as proposals for realities already implemented.
Along with the congress activity, during the two days of stay in Benidorm, on November 8 and 9, the 'XVIII GMT Recreational Convention' takes place, which includes hiking and walking activities, and excursions to Guadalest, Altea and Ciudad de las Ciencias.
