Six decades of Benidorm tourist advertising
About twenty 4th year students of the degree in Advertising and Public Relations at the University of Alicante, with the professor of Advertising History, Lola Fernández, have visited Benidorm City Council Archive today to learn about the material on the concept of tourist advertising that this city has developed, to promote its beaches, summer vacations and vacations, since the fifties of the twentieth century.
The Councilor for Historical Heritage and First Deputy Mayor, Ana Pellicer, greeted them upon entering the municipal building and desired "an instructive and profitable visit to the documentary center" where they have been able to learn about the evolutionary transition of the concept of promoting a tourist destination like Benidorm, which has gone hand in hand with urban development, technological means and fashions.
The interest of the visit has focused on the advertising documentation of the different tourist campaigns that Benidorm City Council has carried out over six decades.
