Until December 24, the products that will reach needy families through Cáritas will be collected

The solidarity campaign of the Socio Cultural Association of the Local Police returns to Benidorm for Christmas

From today until December 24, the Socio Cultural Association of the Local Police of Benidorm will launch its traditional Christmas Solidarity Campaign that this year is determined by the health crisis that the country is experiencing.

The Association, in collaboration with the Department of Public Security, this year will collect cleaning products and personal hygiene, instead of toys as in previous years, with the aim of "helping the families of Benidorm who need it most,"  said the councilor for Citizen Security, Lorenzo Martínez. With this initiative, the local policemen intend to “thank all the applause” received during the confinement and “return them in the most supportive way”.

This year, the Association proposes to citizens the collection of all kinds of cleaning and personal hygiene products such as shampoos, bath gels, soaps, scrubs, disinfectants, diapers, compresses, etc. "Basic necessities," says spokesman Rafael Urbano, "which are the ones most needed at this time by needy families in Benidorm" affected by the crisis caused by Covid-19.

The Socio Cultural Association of the Local Police will invest the profits of the Christmas lottery sale and donations from its members in the acquisition of these products. In turn, these will be distributed later among families  through Cáritas.

People who wish to collaborate with this altruistic purpose, can purchase cleaning or personal hygiene items in any business in the city and take them to the Local Police Station on Grecia Street; or to the checkpoint, located on the ground floor of the Town Hall. To facilitate distribution, the promoters suggest, on the other hand, the acquisition of non-industrial packaging.
