Benidorm grants 30,690 euros to music schools and students
Benidorm City Council today formalized the payment of the subsidies that the Department of Culture makes available for the fifth consecutive year to support the Music Schools and the training process of the students of the musical entities of Benidorm.
The initiative was developed to support and promote the cultural and eminently pedagogical work carried out by the musical entities of Benidorm and maintains its postulates by increasing the endowment.
The councillor of culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez has highlighted that the subsidy is granted according to the number of students, the staf of the musical bands and the annual calculation of expenses related to schools, all of them objective criteria.
The councilor has highlighted "the commitment fulfilled" by Benidorm City Council Government Team that promised to increase the subsidy "and has done so." Pérez detailed the amounts for this new stage: "eleven thousand euros for Benidorm Musical Union, eleven thousand euros for La Nova Musical Society and eight thousand six hundred ninety euros for l’Illa musical society." In return for this agreement, the commitment to perform concerts by the three bands is being developed.
Jaime Jesús Pérez congratulated the bands "for being the first to respond in this pandemic situation and the first to recover and have been able to offer us their concerts, since July."
These musical entities were offered, last June and for rehearsals, the indoor sports court of Guillermo Amor Sports City, chairs and lecterns and up to two changing rooms for storage of equipment in order to resume rehearsals and activity with the greater security guarantees. After the summer, they have been offering concerts with security protocols and public assistance.
