As of January 1, odd-numbered zones will be able to burn agricultural waste on odd days of the month, and zones 2, 4, and 6 will do so on even days.
The new burning plan divides Benidorm into 6 zones, which will carry out the activity on alternate days
Environment organizes talks to inform users of the new conditions
The new Benidorm Local Burning Plan, which will come into force on January 1, divides the municipal area into six zones, which will carry out the activity of burning agricultural remains on alternate days, as indicated by the Councilor for the Environment, Monica Gomez.
As the mayor has detailed, "this is one of the measures contemplated in the new document to minimize the amount and extent of the smoke from the burning and make this activity compatible with the tourist reality of Benidorm."
"A document -he has indicated- of which we are informing users in different talks so that they know how they should proceed from the month of January and in which we are also indicating to each owner in which of the six areas their plot is located".
These talks are taking place throughout the week at various points in the city and at times to “thus make it easier for users to attend”. The first talk took place yesterday Monday in the Assembly Hall of the Town Hall at 10:00 am. Today's talk was also held at this location and time; tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday the 1st, the appointment will be at the Casa del Llaurador de la Ermita de Sanç at 10:00 and 19:00 respectively.
The last talk will be given at the municipal branch in Els Tolls, on Friday, December 2, at 10:00 am.
Broadly speaking, zones 1, 3, and 5 may burn, provided there is a level 1 pre-emergency level (low-medium risk), on odd days of the month; while zones 2, 4, and 6 will do so on even days. In this way, "we avoid the possibility that on the same day most of the burns are concentrated, thus reducing the levels of smoke in the municipal area."
Along with the zoning map, users with a local burning permit are receiving a summary of the Plan, which includes the burning and burner conditions, schedules, measures to follow during the process, and unauthorized remains.
