Toni Pérez calls for adequate financing for municipalities, is positioned against the tourist tax and is committed to sustainability

The mayor of Benidorm participates in the first day of the Municipalism Forum 2022

29 November 2022
Foro Municipalismo

The mayor of Benidorm Toni Pérez participated this morning in the opening day of the Forum of Municipalism that for the third year is organized by the Newspaper Information; a consolidated municipal forum, such as that of the Provincial Council, said President Mazón at the opening ceremony.

At the beginning of the sessions, the first to intervene was the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, who highlighted the importance and interest of the voice of municipalism, denouncing municipal underfunding and proposing the generated VAT as a solution to it. Pérez has positioned himself against the new accommodation tax of the Generalitat Valenciana through the Tourist Tax, recently approved, reiterating that Benidorm will never apply it and will work for its withdrawal. And he has concluded his intervention by highlighting the achievements and transformation process that the Government team of the Benidorm City Council continues to carry out.

The mayor of Benidorm was preceded in the use of the word at the opening and inauguration of the Municipalism Forum 2020 by the president of the Provincial Council of Alicante Carlos Mazón, the president of the FVMP, Rubén Alfaro; the director of the Newspaper Information, Tomás Mayoral, the general director of À Punt Media, Afred Costa and the president of the Port Authority of Alicante, Julián López Milla. The event is led by the director of the Information Club, Toni Cabot; in whose facilities it takes place.

The mayors of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, and Elda, Rubén Alfaro, together with the general director of the SPTCV, Antonio Rodes, and the Ombudsman of Greugues, Ángel Luna, also participated in today's event. From Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat and the environmental solutions company PreZero, presentations and interventions have been developed. The forum will continue tomorrow.
