The municipal market returns to Foietes next Wednesday after the end of the seasonal events

The municipal market celebrating on Wednesdays returns next week to its traditional location in Foietes, once the season of musical events in the sports city Guillermo Amor has finished, as reported today by the councilman of Commerce, Ana Pellicer. Thus, from next Wednesday, August 29, about 270 stalls of the market will be installed in the parking area of ​​Mercasa, in their usual locations.

Pellicer recalled that "in mid-July, shortly before the start of the season of events, we moved the market to its alternative location, in the fairgrounds; a space that we conditioned three years ago so that it could receive this activity in the best conditions on the occasions when it is not possible to make use of Mercasa facilities ".

The councilman of Commerce clarified that "although the events scheduled this summer in the sports city Guillermo Amor would have allowed to install the market in Foietes some Wednesdays, we chose to keep it in the fairgrounds until the last concert to avoid confusion among users. "

Pellicer indicated that "once again, users and sellers have responded well to the temporary transfer of the market to the fairground, in Els Tolls neighborhood"; an alternative location "that allows us to keep this activity active throughout the year".

On the original and traditional location of the market in Foietes, the councillor stressed that this space is "the best" for "its greater breadth," resulting in "the size of the stalls, the comfort of users, and the better and faster intervention of security and health services in case of need ". These facilities, in addition, are more prepared for the development of the activity, having parking areas on the roads that have been created around Foietes Park, and also with more public bathrooms in the area such as those of Mercasa, the sports city, the social center and the park itself.
