An initiative that seeks to promote among its users values such as solidarity with those most in need

The Library delivers to Cáritas the food collected in the 'La Biblioteca es la leche' campaign

La Biblioteca entrega a Cáritas los alimentos recogidos en la campaña ‘La Biblioteca es la leche”

The Central Library of Benidorm has today delivered to Cáritas non-perishable essential products, especially milk, which its users have been collecting since last December 7 and until January 9 within the 'La Biblioteca es la leche' campaign '.

During this time, the entity dependent on the Department of Historical and Cultural Heritage and its librarians has encouraged all the people who have used this free public service to get involved in helping the people most in need.

The Councilor for Historical and Cultural Heritage, Ana Pellicer, has delivered to the representatives of Cáritas the packages that, starting today, people who use the services of this Catholic NGO in Benidorm will begin to receive.

Pellicer recalled that this is not the first time that the Central Library and Benidorm Library Network have carried out solidarity campaigns. "Last summer," she said, "we collected school supplies that the Red Cross subsequently distributed among the most vulnerable families coinciding with the start of the school year." On this occasion, in response to the requests of NGOs, and "given the lack of certain products in food banks, especially milk, we decided to encourage our users to participate once again."

The councillor has emphasized the “need” to promote initiatives like this, among “the youngest” who “are the majority” among those who go to the Library every day so that they “grow in values such as sharing or being in solidarity with those who They have needs” such as, in this case, basic food.
