The JGL has approved today the grant for 2022, to which 190,715 euros will be allocated
Education increases by more than 32,000 euros the grants for psycho-pedagogical treatments, which 147 beneficiaries will receive
They are intended to finance part of the private treatment that students need to overcome difficulties or learning and/or behavioural disorders.
The Department of Education has increased by 32,513 euros the amount granted in municipal aid for psycho-pedagogical treatments, which this year 147 beneficiaries will receive, as reported today by the councillor of the department, Maite Moreno. The Local Government Board (JGL) has approved today the list of beneficiaries and the payment of this grant, which amounts to 190,715 euros, compared to 158,202 euros in 2021.
Moreno recalled that these grants “are aimed at paying for part of the private treatments that these students receive to overcome reading-writing and/or learning difficulties, improve oral language, school maladjustment and behavioural disorders; receive early stimulation -in cases outside the Early Care Association service-; or work their high capacities“. In some cases, “students receive a combined treatment to help in two of these situations”.
According to the figures provided by the councillor, "depending on the type of treatment, the amount of aid granted from February to December ranges between 80 and 230 euros per month, which represents a total aid between 880 and 2,530 euros per beneficiary”.
Moreno has highlighted that "these treatments are essential for students, both personally and academically, and hence the effort made by the City Council to guarantee these aids to all Infant, Primary and Secondary students who need them”.
The councillor has pointed out that "in recent years the resources allocated to this aid have been increasing, going from just under 98,000 euros in 2019 to nearly 200,000 this year, thus increasing the number of beneficiary families."
