To free the road, the collection area is moved to the park-and-ride parking space but without subtracting parking spaces
The City Council implements the devices to facilitate the reopening of Beniardá to traffic as soon as possible
It is expected that on Monday, the 22nd, the asphalting work will begin
Benidorm City Council is going to implement in the next few days the necessary devices to enable the reopening of Beniardá Avenue to traffic as soon as possible. Among the measures to be adopted is facilitating the asphalting work, which will start on Monday the 22nd, to be carried out quickly. In addition, to free up the upper area of the road, a space will be set up in the park and ride park so that the construction company can move all the work material. This transfer of the collection area will not reduce the parking spaces, nor will it affect the access to the car park, which will continue to be the same as up to now.
The mayor, Toni Pérez, explained that "as has been done during these works to bury the road, the City Council is adopting all the necessary measures to speed up the calendar as much as possible, providing solutions and collaborating closely with the company construction company and attending to the different indications of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV)”.
Toni Pérez stressed that "this municipal effort is in addition to that made in the last nine months by the residents of the area and the workers who have been affected by the closure of Beniardá Avenue."
The City Council clarified that work is being done to open the road to traffic, but that urbanization works will continue on the surface of the entire section.
Likewise, an apology is requested in advance for the cuts and pedestrian diversions that will be operational during the coming weeks to make the opening to traffic of the underpass of the avenue viable.
The objective of the City Council was that the cut section could be operational at Easter. For this, it was proposed that the circulation of the TRAM between the Benidorm station and the Intermodal station be interrupted beyond the three weeks established in January by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana; a measure that would have made it possible to speed up the pace of the works and for the underpass to be operational for the first major holiday event of the year. However, the request was not met and a new horizon was set for the completion of the work this month of May.
