The City Council archives the current procedure and adds a new lot to the tender after accepting the still successful bidder to liberalize the operation of the hotel
Benidorm tenders the bus station again, releasing the management of the hotel and increasing the term of the contract
Benidorm City Council will again tender the management contract for the bus station through a public, open, and harmonized tender, increasing the term of the contract to 40 years and including a new lot, the third, the management of the hotel and the plant one from the underground car park. This is reflected in the proposal of the mayor, Toni Pérez, prepared from the different technical reports and which has been addressed today in a Board of Spokespersons in which, in addition to the political groups, technicians from the Intervention areas, Contracting, and Secretary.
In this way, the City Council archives the procedure currently open to which a minimum of five companies were to be invited in each of the two lots initially included in the tender: the first referred to the terminal, the commercial area of the dock, and outdoor parking; and to the second, to the shopping center, to the hotel and underground parking.
According to the proposal, the still concessionaire of the station, at the request of the City Council, has agreed to renounce clause seven of the mutual agreement resolution agreement of the previous contract, thus committing to "liberalize the operation of the hotel" of the complex in case of that another company is awarded. It should be remembered that the contract settlement agreement was respected, subjecting to negotiation, the lease, or exploitation contracts that were in force, as is the case of the hotel contract.
The proposal and the entire file have been included in the Internal Regime Commission.
With the start of this new contracting file, the local government continues to take the pertinent administrative steps to comply with the 2012 ruling of the Supreme Court - which ratified a 2007 ruling of the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJ) - which required to the City Council to tender again the station and all its facilities.
Remember that the contract for the management and operation of the bus station goes out to tender for a price of 24,516,647.32 euros. This amount covers the work carried out and is not amortized.
