The City Council grants 5,000 euros for the promotion of culture in Benidorm

Benidorm City Council, through its Department of Culture, has granted 5,000 euros to different local entities for their work promoting culture in our city. The Local Government Board has approved the granting of these subsidies definitively at the proposal of the councillor of the department, Jaime Jesús Pérez, who explained that their objective is to “recognize the selfless work that all these associations carry out in favour of the culture and compensate for the economic effort they make to develop their activities.”

The five entities that have been selected for the granting of this subsidy are the Catarsis Theater Group, the Castilian La Mancha socio-cultural group Tramontana Benidorm, Alpí Teatre, Benidorm Opinión Club and Párrafos y Viñetas Association, each of which will receive 1,000 euros for the activities organized throughout 2023, as explained by the mayor of Culture.

Jaime Jesús Pérez has expressed his gratitude for the work carried out by all its members in promoting cultural activities related to theatre, folklore, knowledge and the promotion of reading and has recalled that all the proposals presented by the selected entities have been studied by a technical assessment commission.

Now, the money received from the subsidy can be used for current expenses derived from the development of the projects, current expenses for the normal functioning of the association and rentals of materials necessary for the development of activities and property rentals, added the councillor, who He also recalled that among the requirements to qualify for this aid included, among others, aspects such as being legally constituted and registered in the Registry of Associations of the City Council, the promotion or dissemination of cultural activities in the city, and having a social headquarters. or stable, active and open to the public delegation in Benidorm.
