Fifteen students benefit from this subsidy corresponding to the 2022/23 academic year

The City Council allocates 9,300 euros of municipal aid for Erasmus students in Benidorm

20 October 2023
El Ayuntamiento destina 9.300 euros de ayuda municipal para los estudiantes Erasmus de Benidorm

A new application period opens in November for those who participate in the program in the second semester of the current academic year.

The Department of Education of Benidorm City Council will pay municipal aid in the coming days to 15 students from the city who participated last year in international mobility programs such as Erasmus +, as reported today by the councilor of the department, Maite Moreno. These grants, corresponding to the 2022/23 academic year, amount to 9,300 euros in total.

Moreno explained that “with this aid, we intend to collaborate with university students and students from Higher Level of Vocational Training Cycles in Benidorm who, within their training, adhere to this type of programs to carry out part of their training in other countries; an option that also allows them to live the experience of residing outside of Spain and complement their curricular activity with the learning or improvement of a foreign language.”

As detailed by the person responsible for Education, "This is an aid of 100 euros for each month of stay abroad with a maximum period of 9 months, which is the duration of the complete academic year." In the aid awarded now and which will be paid shortly, just over half of the students have obtained the maximum amount of aid, having completed nine months of study abroad.

Moreno stressed that "this municipal aid is fully compatible with others that the student has received from any public administration or private entity to facilitate their stay during the program."

In short, “it is about doing our bit so that Benidorm students have more facilities and economic resources during the months they spend studying abroad.”

According to the rules, the payment of aid will be single and annual once proof of stay at the destination university for the indicated period. Furthermore, next November, on the 27th, a new application period will open for those who participate in these European mobility programs during the second semester of the current academic year.
