More than 200 young people participate on Sunday in this competition, qualifying for the Spanish Championship
Chess competitions return to Benidorm. The city hosts this Sunday, March 26, at Deloix Hotel the Autonomous Junior Championships in the sub-8, sub-10, sub-12 and sub-18 categories. A competition in which more than 200 players from all over the Valencian Community will participate, to which will be added coaches and club delegates from all corners of the three provinces and the companions of the minors.
Benidorm Chess Club have highlighted the importance of this test, as it is qualifying for the Championship of Spain. In fact, the top five players in each category will compete in the state competition.
With these competitions Benidorm Chess Club, in collaboration with the Department of Sports, resumes after seven years the organization of these events. The new president of the Club, Luis Zotes, has assured that " the new board of directors want these championships to be the first of many, as our intention is to continue to organize in the city chess events open to all ages and categories." At the moment, the contact with the regional and national federations is already resuming.
