The Board of Spokespersons agrees to suspend the open market in Foietes
The Board of Spokespersons today has agreed to suspend Foietes municipal open market located at Mercasa site every Wednesdays. This has been communicated by the Councilor for Commerce, Lorenzo Martínez, who explained that “this measure is adopted in view of the latest Covid-19 measures issued today in a decree by the Generalitat Valenciana and that, among other aspects, limits the meetings in public spaces and following the recommendations of the experts ”.
"In principle, this suspension will be maintained while the latest measures issued by the Generalitat Valenciana are in force," Martínez said. Thus, from the outset, the market will not be installed on Wednesday, the 27th, nor on February 3 and 10. As of that date "the reactivation of the market will be subject to the instructions issued by the Generalitat depending on how the health crisis progresses."
The councillor of Commerce has transferred that "already during the first wave of the pandemic the activity of the market was suspended", and recalled that "for its resumption, once it was normatively possible, important measures were adopted to guarantee compliance at all times of hygiene measures and social distance with the adaptation of the enclosure to the new demands ”. In the same way, he has stressed that "the reactivation of the activity was made progressively, prioritizing food stalls". In fact, the textile stalls returned to Foietes municipal market on December 2.
