Premio Isidro Cortina

Blanca Pastor Molina, a student from La Nucía who studied at Colegio Almedia, has been the winner of the XI “Isidro Cortina” Award given by the Rotary Club to the best student in La Marina Baixa

Blanca Pastor has received today from the mayor of Benidorm Toni Pérez and the Governor of District 2303 Victor Javier Elena the award that, as every year, is given to La Marina Baixa students with the best score in the university entrance exams. The act was attended by the provincial deputy José Ramón González de Zárate, the mayor of La Nucía, Bernabé Cano, and the councilors for Education in Benidorm and La Nucía, Maite Moreno Sergio Villalba.

The award, which has a financial endowment of 3,000 euros, recognizes the educational effort for excellence and in this eleventh edition it is awarded the highest score of all editions: 11'84 out of 12'00.

Toni Pérez congratulated the winning student, and her parents, pointing out "the value of recognition that rewards the effort of the students" and highlighting "the commitment to the talent of the region" developed by the Rotary Club.

Alfredo Melgar, president of the Rotary Club of Benidorm, and Vicky Fernández, widow of Isidro Cortina, received the guests at the event. Melgar indicated that the award is an "incitement" for students to "make an effort" in the university entrance exams and a recognition of talent.
