Benidorm represents Spain at a European event about the CAF quality system
A municipal delegation headed by the mayor will explain in Bratislava the improvements implemented in Treasury
Benidorm City Council will represent Spain at a European event on the CAF quality system to be held next Wednesday, November 30, in Bratislava (Slovakia). This event, organized by the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA), involves 20 projects from 13 countries that have been chosen from 44 different candidates. Within the event, Benidorm has its own workshop entitled 'Management in total quality with CAF'. In it, the delegation of Benidorm headed by the mayor, Toni Pérez, and made up of the mayor of Hacienda, Lourdes Caselles, the municipal treasurer and the Quality Technician of the City Council, will expose the advantages that has meant for citizens and workers the implementation of CAF system in the management and services of the Treasury area. Caselles has indicated that the improvement actions implemented have resulted in "a considerable increase in the collection of assessments and self-assessments, mainly during a voluntary period, the percentage of profit has been increased and transparency in the procedures and service given to citizens" . In addition, "the complaints have been reduced, the average payment period to the suppliers and the level of municipal indebtedness". The implementation of the CAF system has also meant "a greater interdepartmental relationship and, most important of all, an increase in the satisfaction of citizens and employees". In this regard, he recalled that "every year surveys are conducted to see how the service is received by citizens" and stressed that "year by year there is an increase in satisfaction." The mayor has further valued this perception of citizens' satisfaction since "we must not forget that the Treasury involves the payment of taxes, public prices and even sanctions." Caselles has stressed that "from the Department of Treasury can feel very proud," and congratulated "all officials of the department" for these results and the fact that Benidorm is the elected City Council to represent Spain in this event European. It should be remembered that Benidorm was the first City Council of Spain to achieve CAF 500+ quality certification. The implementation of the CAF system began in January 2013. At this time, the procedures - all available electronically - have been simplified, new means of payment and an advanced payment management system have been established, a letter of Services, and different public-private agreements have been signed.
