Peña "El Mos" wins the glass recycling competition during the Major Patron Festivities

Benidorm collected those days 10 tons of containers of which 2,700 kilos corresponded to the recycling of 'peñas'

La Penya El Mos has received this morning the prize of the campaign 'Lapeñamás glass', organized by Ecovidrio, in collaboration with the department of Fiestas and the Association of Penyes 'Verge del Sofratge'. Fuentes; The president of the peñistas, Mariló Cebreros; And Ana Mª Arroyo and Mª Carmen Meré, from the Penya El Mos. The campaign 'Lapeñamásglass' took place throughout the Festes Majors Patronals 2016, in which participated some of the peñas in Benidorm that have collected directly in the scales installed to the effect 2,700 kilos of containers, 283 assembled by the Penya El Mos . If we add to that the amounts collected in the new containers installed to serve the hospitality industry, members of the 'peñas' and neighbors in general, the amount of recycled glass in the city amounts to 10 tons, reports Ecovidrio. Ecovidrio is a non-profit organization responsible for the management of recycling of glass containers in Spain. In Benidorm, according to its 2015 statistics, a total of 3,393,250 kilograms were recycled, representing an average per capita of 49.1 a year. Regarding the number of containers, in the municipal term there are 372 iglúes installed, which means an average of 186 inhabitants for each one.
