Benidorm creates a new 4,000 square meter garden in La Cala
Benidorm City Council has begun the work to create a new garden in La Cala area, of about 4,000 square meters, which is located at the confluence of Vicente Pérez Devesa avenue and México street, inaugurated two months ago.
This morning, within the campaign 'A pie de calle', the councilors of Public Space, José Ramón González de Zárate, and Citizenship Participation, Ana Pellicer, have paid a visit to the place accompanied by the vice presidents of the Neighborhood Council, Teresa Garrido and Manuel Sánchez Notario, in addition to some residents of the area to whom the action that is being carried out has been explained.
It is an area that has road trees "but we are going to improve and expand it for the enjoyment of the residents of La Cala, who from here can reach Poniente beach through two gardens," the councilor for Public Space highlighted.
The new garden covers an area of around 4,000 square meters and when it is finished "it will have a complete urbanization, trees, new grass and shrub plants all of Mediterranean origin". It will be, González de Zárate continued, "a great decoration in the garden so that people can walk and enjoy the place and the environment."
The works are scheduled to be completed early next year so that once the grass has grown "people can enjoy it walking or with their pets."
González de Zárate has once again valued the 'A pie de calle' campaign that visits the city's neighborhoods every Thursday “because we are in continuous contact with the neighbors and they show us the problems they have and the things that need to be improved ”.
In addition, the mayor has stressed that "we once again show that this government believes the environment and the objectives set by the European Union and other administrations to combat climate change with more comfortable and friendly cities. And that's what we're doing".
Next week the campaign ‘A pie de calle’ will move to Rincón de Loix, specifically to the municipal park that is attached to Antonio López football fields.
