Benidorm completes the renovation and improvement of Rincón de Loix urban park
The Benidorm City Council has completed the renovation and improvement of the Rincón de Loix urban park, located next to the Antonio López football fields and in front of the Les Caletes Municipal Nursery School and the La Torreta Social Center, at the confluence of Bernat streets of Sarriá and Ciudad Real.
This intervention has lasted for the last few months and this morning it was visited as part of the 'A pie de calle' campaign by the councillors of Citizen Participation and Public Space, Ana Pellicer and José Ramón González de Zárate, together with the vice-presidents of the Council Neighborhood, Teresa Garrido and Manuel Sánchez Notario, as well as some residents of the neighbourhood.
The action has covered several areas. On the one hand, the comprehensive renovation of the pavement in the children's play area, where new swings have been installed. The children's area has been expanded to 350 square metres, safety flooring with an artificial grass finish has been laid and the existing play elements have been relocated. This area also has a 20 linear meter zip line, whose area has been adapted, children's springs and various games printed on the pavement.
On the other hand, an 'agility' area has been created for pets with elements of training and training and action has been taken in another part of the park with the placement of bio-healthy elements "aimed at more adults who want to exercise safely in this natural environment” has indicated the councillor Ana Pellicer, who has also made reference to the new petanque area in the park.
Complementary work has also been completed by the Municipal Technical Services consisting of the installation of elements for the practice of callisthenics, which are already available "to users who are fond of sports". “It is a sports modality that has many followers and that did not have an endowment in this area, a point in which a large population who is fond of this practice is concentrated” pointed out Pellicer.
The mayor has remarked that with this intervention "different age groups are served, from the youngest to the oldest" and has stressed that "we put into practice active listening to attend to the requests of the neighbours, which has led to the rehabilitation, increase and improvement of the endowment of this park to which we have incorporated new facilities. Active listening encourages us to improve the services we offer, the facilities and the endowments”.
The total cost has risen to 78,000 euros, "which is assumed by the concessionary company of urban furniture, so it has been at zero cost for the City Council" as specified by the Councilor for Public Space. González de Zárate has also indicated that the park will "soon have a new shaded area thanks to the fast-growing trees that have been planted", as well as increased comfort and cleanliness "with the installation of more benches and litter bins".
The area for pets and petanque also has new "recycled" lighting, with LED technology, "since it comes from other areas of the city where it has been replaced with the IDAE grant."
