The project includes the construction of the access roundabout to the industrial zone and the Vial Discotecas, and includes all the conditions imposed by the Ministry
Benidorm approves on Monday the project to link the N-332 with the industrial estate, valued at 19 million
Once the document is approved, the City Council will be able to start the tender for the works, which will allow the development of the real state to be completed
The plenary session of the Benidorm City Council will approve this coming Monday, July 25, the construction project for the connection of the N-332 road with the industrial estate and with the Valencian Community avenue; a project valued at nearly 19 million euros and which will allow the development of the industrial area to be completed. This has been advanced by the mayor, Toni Pérez, after yesterday the proposal signed by the Councilor for Urban Planning, Lourdes Caselles, was ruled in an informative commission.
Toni Pérez explained that "this project, which has received favourable reports from municipal technicians and which has been presented by the developer of the industrial estate -Terra Village Land SL-, includes the construction of a roundabout that will link the variant with the industrial area and also with the so-called Vial Discotecas, which is the one that will join the N-332 and Comunidad Valenciana avenue”.
This new version of the project "is adapted to all the conditions indicated by the Ministry of Mobility, Transport and Urban Agenda and also to the approved Environmental Impact Statement, and on paper, it makes the conclusion of the works of the industrial estate viable". In this regard, he recalled that "the construction of this roundabout was an essential condition imposed by the Ministry so that Benidorm could start up its industrial zone".
"We are talking, therefore, of a key action for the future of the city, since this industrial zone is going to be an important centre for the generation of employment and wealth", he added, after stressing that "with the new document, in principle, they save all the objections that in recent years have been transferred to us from other administrations; some objections that have delayed the execution of these works and that have also increased their cost concerning the initial forecast”.
The project proposes to resolve the link with a 25-meter roundabout that will be located at the height of the industrial area. Likewise, for the connection of the polygon with the Comunidad Valenciana avenue, the so-called Vial Discotecas is defined, as just over a kilometre and which will connect with the Comunidad Valenciana avenue at the height of the old crane depot – close to the ITV station -, becoming new access to Benidorm by Levante from the variant.
The mayor has detailed that the approval of this project "will allow us to start working on the bidding for the works." A tender that, due to its amount, must be published in the Official Journal of the European Union. Despite being an action that affects a national highway dependent on the State, the investment for this link will come from the municipal coffers and, to a lesser extent and based on an agreement signed years ago, from the company that will build the planned shopping centre in the polygon.
