Benidorm allocates 200,000 euros until the end of the year to small works on public roads

The first improvements in tiles and sidewalks are being made in the old town, and will continue on the promenades

Citizen petitions and complaints transferred by social networks, Línea Verde and Línea 900 will also be addressed.

Benidorm City Hall has allocated a total of 200,000 euros for small works on public roads, which will be executed through a maintenance contract tendered by open competition. The spokesman for Ciudadanos por Benidorm (CBM) and Councilman for Street Cleaning, Arturo Cabrillo, recalled that this action was a proposal included in the 2017 budget by its municipal group "to solve the deficiencies that occur on public roads that require small interventions ", and that" for reasons of shortage of personnel, cannot be assumed by the municipal technical services ".

In this regard, Cabrillo and the councilman of Urban Scene, José Ramón González de Zárate, have reported that the municipal technical services at this time have "two bricklayers", a staff "insufficient" to meet all the necessary repairs throughout the city and in the municipal buildings.

The 200,000 euros of the contract and the improvements offered by the winning company will be entirely allocated to the work. Thus, the City will provide all the necessary material for repairs through the contract for the supply of construction material, also awarded by public tender. In this way, "we will be able to act on more points and resolve more deficiencies", said De Zárate.

The councillor has indicated that they are already carrying out the first actions in the area of ​​the old town, where they are repairing tiles or other elements that have "deteriorated by the action of time or the transfer of loading and unloading vehicles" . that has begun in this area to solve all possible deficiencies before the Patron Saint Festival, time of year of great influx of people to the old town, and has clarified that some of the repairs are provisional pending the final materials .

After the Patron Saint Festivities it will de the turn of the promenades and, subsequently, the citizen requests will be addressed to the City Council through the various channels available for this purpose: official Facebook pages of the local administration, Green Line and 900 Line.

The councilor has informed that the operators of the winning company will work in shifts of morning, afternoon and evening.
