144 young people between the ages of 10 and 16 have participated during the months of July and August in the 'Summer Program' for Youth
Throughout July and August, 144 young people between the ages of 10 and 16 participated in the 'Summer 2023 Program' which is organized annually by the Department of Youth and has been developed fortnightly at CEIP Leonor Canalejas facilities. The mayor, Toni Pérez, and the councilor of the department, Ana Soliveres, have shared impressions with the last group of participants, which ends the activity on September 1.
As the mayor recalled, this 'Summer Program' is “an initiative based on educational leisure, so that young people learn while having fun through very diverse activities such as workshops, cultural outings, games, sports, film forums or work emotional intelligence”.
In addition, "with this program, we offer families a reconciliation option during the summer season that is added to the rest of the activities and programs promoted and supported by the Departments of Education and Sports and which have also garnered very high attendance numbers".
The 'Summer Program' for Youth has been developed from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 14:30 in three periods: from July 17 to 28, from July 31 to August 11, and, finally, from August 21 to 1 September. In each period, 48 places have been enabled, divided into groups of 12 minors. The cost of participation has been 30 euros per participant, thanks to the contributions of the City Council and the IVAJ (Valencian Youth Institute).
