The stalls had been moved to the Fairgrounds during the month of July due to the celebration of two music festivals
The flee market returns to Mercasa starting next Wednesday
The municipal market held on Wednesdays in Benidorm will be set up again on the Mercasa esplanade from next Wednesday, August 7, thus recovering its usual location next to the Guillermo Amor Sports City once the celebration of the summer music festivals and the dismantling of all its infrastructure has finished.
This was announced this Thursday by the Councillor for Commerce, Javier Jordá, who stressed that during July and the first week of August the market has continued to operate with its nearly 240 food and textile stalls, although since July 3 it has been operating in the alternative location of the Fairgrounds, in the Els Tolls neighbourhood.
On the other hand, by that date the Mercasa parking platforms will also be operational, and parking lots will be enabled as the dismantling work of the Low Festival progresses.
The Councillor for Commerce, Javier Jordá, has indicated that once the musical events have finished, “when it comes to dismantling, priority will be given to the Mercasa area so that citizens have this parking space available as soon as possible, which is key for the residents of Colonia Madrid”. Jordá has added that “the same speed has been taken to be able to recover the municipal market in the shortest possible time in its traditional location”, as well as the facilities of the Sports City. Proof of this, the councillor has added, is that “the municipal swimming pool is also now, as of today, reopened to the public”.
