The first vertical 'mascletá' and 'the Festa' warn that the Festes Majors Patronals of 2022 are coming

Benidorm already breathes a party atmosphere. The impressive vertical mascletá that was fired yesterday from Mercasa impregnated the entire city with the smell of gunpowder and reminded all residents and visitors that the big days are just around the corner. In fact, the Comissió had already advanced days before that its intention was that the firing of the mascletá would be almost like the official start of the festivities.

After the concert offered by the Societat Musical La Nova de Benidorm in the cultural center, the epicenter of the events moved to the Mercasa venue, where more than a thousand people gathered to see what the installed device was already advancing.

Once the queens, ladies, and authorities arrived at the venue, the mascletá was shot, with the lighting by Aila Merenciano and Chloe d'Hebboudt. The pyrotechnics Ricardo Caballer S.A. (Ricasa) arranged 266.7 kilos of gunpowder for a duration of six minutes, whose highlight, however, was in the placement of part of the mascletá at a height of 30 meters that made it the largest of those carried out in the province in this style.

The truth is that it did not disappoint at all and that it even exceeded expectations. Deafening and thunderous, the mascletá received the praise of those present as it could not be less. Instantly, gunpowder smoke flooded Benidorm to warn that the Festes Majors Patronals are already here.

And in case there was any doubt, minutes after the mascletá, the Commission celebrated the Festa de les Festes, the reception of the queens and ladies to the festive entities, in the mayorals tent, at Plaza de SS MM Los Reyes de España venues, which this year has moved forward in the festive calendar. A pickaxe inside the tent put the final touch to the night.
