The Rondalla of ACR La Barqueta and Unión Musical Union join the Cultural Week of the Festes Majors Patronals

Festive music has once again taken center stage in these days prior to the Festes Majors Patronals with the celebration of two concerts today Sunday by the Rondalla of the ACR La Barqueta, in the church of Sant Jaume i Santa Anna, and the center cultural by Benidorm Unión Musical.

After 12:30 noon, the Rondalla of ARC La Barqueta began its 'Concert de Pols i Púa' with the performance of various works, such as 'La calesera', 'El gato montés' or 'Ragón Falez' among others.

The concert was attended by the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, members of the local corporation, the president of ACR La Barqueta, Francisco Llorens, the queens of the Festes, Aila Merenciano and Chloe d'Hebboudt, the president of the Commission, José Vicente Fuster, of the Associació de Penyes, Adrián Romero and numerous neighbors and visitors who filled the capacity of the church.

In the afternoon, at 6:00 p.m. in the cultural center, the second of the concerts scheduled for today was held at the Cultural Setmana of Les Festes Majors Patronals, by Benidorm Musical Union, under the direction of Rafa Gómez Parra.

The program has included a very varied repertoire: 'Fanfarria para el hombre corriente' by Aaron Copland, 'Jaime Jesús Pérez Linares' by Rafa Gómez Parra, a selection from the musical 'West Side Story' by Leonard Bernstein, ' El Carrasco' by José Sotorres, 'Benidorm Festival' by Rafael Doménech Pardo, 'Suspiros de España' by Antonio Álvarez and 'La boda de Luis Alonso' by Gerónimo Giménez Bellido.

During the concert, Benidorm Unión Musical awarded the queens Aila Merenciano and Chloe d'Hebboudt, as well as the presidents of the Comissió and the Associació de Penyes, José Vicente Fuster and Adrián Romero, with the insignia of the Unión Musical.
