City Council and Associació de Penyes sign their collaboration with an agreement

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the president of the Associació de Penyes 'Verge del Sofratge', Ramón Cano, have stamped their signatures today on a new collaboration agreement by which the festive group, the largest in the city, will receive a grant of 33,000 euros from public coffers. The event was also attended by the Councilor for Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles.

With this agreement, the City Council recognizes the important work carried out by the peñistas in the organization of the Benidorm Carnival that will take place this weekend, with its two parades (children and adults), the open-air festival, and the subsequent Burial of the Sardine that will precede Lent.

Likewise, the signed agreement extends the collaboration between the City Council and the Associació de Penyes to the organization of two of the most significant events of the festive year in Benidorm: the celebration of Dia de la Mona and the traditional Camping of Penyes.
