Benidorm begins the planting of about 350 specimens of trees in various parts of the municipal area

The Department of Public Space of Benidorm City Council has begun the planting of around 350 units of trees throughout the entire municipality, including a great variety of different species. The objective of this action is to replace trees in those places where there are deficiencies as well as to create new shady areas, as explained by the Councilor for Public Space, José Ramón González de Zárate.
The municipal technical services are in charge of executing this action, which has already started in some parts of the city. Thus, the transplanting of Jacaranda specimens that were in Venezuela Street and that will now be located in the upper part of the Foietes park is being carried out.
Numerous specimens of 'Melia azedarach' or Cinnamon have also been planted. On Avenida de la Comunidad Valencia, Washingtonia palm trees have been added, while on París street and in Severo Ochoa, copies of 'melia' have been added.
Likewise, in the park between Colombia and Bolivia streets, date palms that were on Mallorca street have been transplanted and transplanted washingtonias have been placed in the deterrent parking lot on Beniardá avenue. On Callosa Street, for its part, specimens of mulberry trees are being planted along the road.
Also in areas of Rincón de Loix, Sanz Hermitage, Foietes Park and Sèquia Mare Park, 35 lush trees of the ‘Melia azedarach’ type have been planted to create shady areas demanded by users. "This species has been chosen as it has a large and leafy crown and with the arrival of good weather it will allow the area to have a shade that makes the walk or stay more pleasant", said the councilor.
"Wherever there is a space in which a tree can be planted, we will do so, as well as in parks and other areas so that people can be comfortable," added González de Zárate.
In addition to these actions, the real estate group TM, which is executing the urbanization works of PP 2/1 Poniente, is planting trees on all roads in the area, as well as the installation of drip irrigation in all copies . A work that is supervised by the municipal technical services.
