The Department of Citizenship Participationencourages all residents over 18 years of age to participate in the process

On the 28th the deadline for the telematic vote of the proposals of the participatory budgets ends

24 November 2022
Presupuestos Participativos.

Next Monday, November 28, the deadline for citizens of Benidorm over 18 years of age to vote electronically on the proposals made by the neighbors for next year's participatory budgets ends.

The Councilor for Citizenship Participation, Ana Pellicer, recalled today that this period is still open and has encouraged all registered citizens of legal age to do so "to achieve the city model we want and in order to have a participation every time elderly".

The residents will be able to vote on all the proposals they consider among the 130 that were presented until the deadline for a presentation, which ended on November 2 at 11:59 p.m. After the participatory budget assembly was held the following day, on the 4th of this month the period for voting through the digital platform was opened for those who had not done so in person at the assembly.

The telematic vote must be done through the digital platform benidorm.governalia.es. This modality, as explained, will be open to all registered citizens over 18 years of age until next November 28. To assess and vote for the different proposals online, residents who wish to do so must go to the web address: benidorm.governalia.es and from there register with a username and password. The next step will be to verify your DNI so that the system checks that it is included in the population register.

Pellicer has highlighted that "every year there is more participation, so the assessment is very positive". The proof is that this year 130 proposals have been received, a figure higher than that of previous years. The mayor has recalled that each citizen can choose as many proposals as they want and has clarified that their details can be found on the digital platform itself "where they are also listed for those who want to vote or consult them."

Once the voting period is over, a mixed commission will be formed made up of two members of the Neighborhood Council and two other attendees at the last assembly, who already expressed their desire to be part of it right there. This commission will carry out a follow-up and assessment of the proposals together with the municipal technicians to determine which ones are feasible to be executed. The order will be established based on the number of votes obtained by each one.

The participatory budget will be endowed with at least 5% of the investment chapter of the municipal budget for the year 2023, an amount that in recent years has exceeded half a million euros.

Ana Pellicer reiterated that participation through the digital platform "is a magnificent opportunity for our citizens to choose the city model they want" thanks to the fact that participatory budgets "are a very powerful tool for this" and that they have been running since 2016, that is why she once again "encouraged everyone to vote for the proposals that they consider to be the most appropriate for Benidorm".
