The forecast is to implement another 40 more places in the coming weeks
The City Council enables 40 free parking spaces for motorcycles and mopeds in l'Aigüera car park
The l'Aigüera public car park, which began management by the City Council on February 2, has set up 40 parking spaces for motorcycles and mopeds. This has been advanced today by the Councilor for Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate, who has indicated it as "an important novelty".
The new spaces are located next to the ramps up and down the car park, an area where vehicles could not park due to their size. "Right now we have prepared 40 parking spaces for motorcycles and mopeds available to citizens, people who come to work in the city center, or those who come to walk and visit shops."
González de Zárate has insisted that "it is a completely free service" and has also advanced that 40 places have now been enabled "but in two weeks there will be another 40 more".
The mayor, however, has stressed that motorcycles must park "only in the authorized area" and in no case in the spaces of four-wheeled vehicles. The council is available to implement a greater number of places, "but first we want to see how it works now."
On the other hand, the Councilor for Mobility recalled that with the new public management, the rates have been lowered so that the parking hour has been established at 1.90 euros in general. However, resident cardholders will only pay 1.20 euros/hour.
In addition, there are other reductions and bonuses. Customers who buy in establishments in the downtown area for a value of 20 euros or more will have one hour of free parking and those who stay in hotels, hostels, pensions, or tourist apartments in the center will only pay 1.50 euros/hour for parking in the parking.
