The action is part of the special cleaning tasks provided for in the beach concessionaire's specifications
Benidorm is undertaking two intensive clean-ups on the cliffs of Castell and Serra Gelada

Benidorm City Council has carried out two intensive vertical cleanups on the cliffs of Castell and the Serra Gelada Natural Park, in the Punta Llisera area, to remove various types of waste and protect both zones, which represent two of the municipality's most emblematic spaces and receive thousands of visits daily, both from residents and visitors and tourists. The Councilor for Beaches and Environment, Mónica Gómez, explained that these works were carried out by the company holding the concession for the comprehensive management of the beaches, R.A. Benidorm, as part of the special cleaning activities provided for in the specifications, which stipulate that the concessionaire must carry out six special cleaning activities annually in the city's coves and cliffs.
These cleaning tasks "have been carried out manually, with operators specialised in this type of vertical work, who move along the slopes to collect all the waste that accumulated there," the councillor stated. Mónica Gómez also highlighted that the Serra Gelada mountain range and the Punta Canfali cliffs in El Castell are "two of Benidorm's main tourist attractions," which is why the City Council "is carrying out all the necessary measures to keep them in top condition, both in terms of image and environmental aspects."
The vertical cleanup carried out in the Castell zone, workers removed around two hundred kilograms of waste, while on the slopes surrounding Punta Llisera, nearly 400 kilograms were collected and removed.
