Benidorm says good bye to the Carnival with the Burial of the Sardine

01 March 2017
Benidorm se despide de su Carnaval con el Entierro de la Sardina

Benidom said goodbye last night to the Carnival until next year with the Burial of the Sardine, organized by the Association of Penyes Verge del Sofratge with the collaboration of the department of Fiestas.

At 21.30, at the Major Square, members of the Penyas and numerous public gathered to say goodbye to Don Carnal. The councilmen of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles, and Events, José Ramón González de Zárate were there, asa well as the Queen of Festes Majors Patronals 2017, Anna Galiana and the president of the Commission, Antonio Vicente Fuster 'Panchi'. Among sobs, tears and laments the sardine of cardboard and its coffin made the traditional tour around the center of the city that ended at Poniente beach where the flames and pyrotechnics put an end to Carnival 2017 and welcomed, muttering, to Doña Cuaresma.
